Investigators were unable to determine what sparked a deadly apartment fire in Lompoc earlier this year.

The fire broke out June 22 at around 6:30 a.m. in a downstairs unit of the Kimi East Apartments on the 1000 block of East Cypress, according to Lompoc Fire officials.

The body of Rubye Fritz, 76, was found inside.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office tells KSBY News Fritz died of smoke inhalation.

The Lompoc Fire Department says the cause of the fire was listed as accidental and the cause is unknown.

Foul play is not suspected.
