With many public fireworks displays canceled on the Central Coast this year, officials are anticipating more at-home fireworks shows.

Safe and sane fireworks are available for sale in Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach and the Oceano Community Services District through Sunday.

A junior bowling team is running a fireworks stand in Santa Maria.

Rancho Bowl manager Wade Stever says the money raised will go toward traveling costs and scholarships. He says sales are up quite a bit compared to the last five years.

"We're at a pace where we earn more each day as it gets closer to Fourth of July," Stever said. "We're at least probably a thousand dollars ahead of our last pace so it's looking like we're going to be a good amount past our record."

Safe and sane fireworks are allowed in Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach Saturday only. Possession or discharge of illegal fireworks can result in a misdemeanor and up to $1,000 in fines.
