The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says the person responsible for starting multiple fires in the Goleta area this week has been identified and apprehended.
That person is described only as a male juvenile.
Fire officials say the boy is suspected of setting a fire that caused major damage to the Growing Babies Preschool and Infant Center at the Center of the Heart church on North Turnpike Road late Monday night.
Just after that fire, in the early morning hours on Tuesday, firefighters reportedly responded to two more fires on nearby Vala Drive that officials say were also intentionally set. Those fires destroyed several garbage cans and a portable toilet.
