Monday is National Read Across America Day!
The national reading initiative coincides with the birthday of famous author Dr. Seuss. Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American artist, book publisher, animator, poet, a political cartoonist as well as an author. He is best known for authoring over 60 children’s books.
The National Education Association sponsors Read Across America to encourage children to read.
Read Across America Day was first observed on March 2, 1998.
KSBY Daybreak anchors Christina Favuzzi and Brooke Martell will be visiting classrooms at Virginia Peterson Elementary School in Paso Robles Monday to read their favorite children's books to the students.
