A Lompoc man has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of his girlfriend last week.

Brenden Michael Terry, 20, pleaded not guilty Monday morning to the charge and an allegation that the shooting was intentional and personal, according to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office.

Police say they were called to a homeWednesday morning on the 300 block of North Y Street to reports of an unresponsive person.

Once on scene, they found the victim, identified by the DA’s Office as Sarah Stoffle shot to death.

Police say the 18-year-old moved to Lompoc from out of the area in the middle of last year.

Terry remained behind bars at Santa Barbara County Jail late Monday morning, according to jail logs.

His bail was set at $3 million during his arraignment.

Terry is due back in court in Lompoc on April 23.
