LOMPOC — A special education teacher in Lompoc is one of three national finalists in Mayflower's Mover of Movers contest.

$25,000 will be awarded to an individual making courageous, life-changing impacts.

Lompoc teacher Annalynn Clark was selected as a finalist.

She is responsible for creating a school garden club to address food insecurity issues among her students, while emphasizing math, English and reading comprehension skills.

"I want to teach them how to grow their own food because if anything this pandemic has done it's shown us that we really don't know what's going to happen," Clark said.

Clark hope to renovate the school’s greenhouse if she is the grand prize winner.

The winner will be determined by vote and announced later this summer.

You can still vote for Clark through the Mover of Movers contest website by clicking here.
