Man arrested after K9 finds meth, cocaine during traffic stop in Santa Maria

Police arrested a Santa Maria man after discovering more than 80 grams of drugs during a traffic stop Sunday night.

According to a press release, an officer spotted a BMW driving at a high-rate of speed south on Blosser Road. The driver was identified as Gerardo Hernandez Flores, 38.

Flores was arrested from driving under the influence as well as an outstanding warrant.

Police stated Flores was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and more than $1,000 in cash.

A K9 searched the vehicle and founda hidden compartment containing 135 individual baggies of meth and cocaine, the press release stated, with a street value of $2,300.

Flores faces a number of charges. His bail was set at $250,000.
