A charge of murder has been filed against the man arrested in connection with the stabbing death of another man in Morro Bay over the weekend.

Sean Maneely, 53, was in court Friday for arraignment on the charge and a special allegation that a knife was used to commit the murder, but he did not enter a plea, according to the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney's Office.

His arrest on Sunday came after Morro Bay police responded to Morro Bay Self Storage System on the 1100 block of Allesandro St. Saturday to reports of a stabbing.

Police say Maneely and the victim, identified as Andrew McTaggart II, 58, of Morro Bay were arguing before McTaggart was stabbed.

He was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.

Maneely is due back in court next week. He's being held in San Luis Obispo County Jail without bail.
