Pedestrian struck and killed by Amtrak train in Downtown Santa Barbara

According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, a pedestrian was struck by a train and killed Saturday in Downtown Santa Barbara.

The incident happened at around 7:10 a.m. north of Montecito Street and the Amtrak station. Officials say the train involved was a southbound Amtrak.

The victim, an adult male, was found deceased on the railroad tracks. As of Saturday afternoon, the male has not been identified.
