Atascadero Police are investigating a death that occurred Sunday evening.
Police say at 5:23 p.m. an officer checked on a vehicle parked in the police department's parking lot.
Police say a person found inside the vehicle died from a gunshot wound.
Detectives do not suspect foul play. The incident remains under investigation.
