The Pismo Preserve is $200,000 closer to opening up.

Back in September, an anonymous donor offered to match $100,000 in donations to the Pismo Preserve through Oct. 16.

The Land Conservancy announced Wednesday that 441 community members donated about $93,000 toward the match and another supporter offered to close the gap and donate the remaining money.

The Land Conservancy needs to raise $550,000 more to open up the 11-mile trail for hikers and bikers.

The preserve is located on the east side of Highway 101 just off Mattie Rd. in Pismo Beach.
