Work is continuing at the Paul Nelson Aquatic Center in Santa Maria.
The pool was closed in January for renovations.
This week, work is being done to replace the deck around the pool. Once the concrete is set, the pool will be replastered.
The goal is to reopen the aquatic center to the public on April 1.
"Rain could actually delay the whole project," said Dennis Smitherman, City of Santa Maria Recreation Services Manager. "We're hoping that we stay light with the rain for right now, although we need it. W are looking to have the concrete demo'd which will help keep the dust down but then it's the pouring of the new concrete that the rain could cause a delay."
The city says about 75,000 people use the aquatic center each year.
While the pool has been patched up several times over the years, the last full resurfacing project was in 1997.
