San Luis Obispo County adds 33 new cases of COVID-19

San Luis Obispo County added 33 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing the county's total to 6,378 confirmed cases as of Dec. 2.

According to the Public Health Department, 13 people are hospitalized, including one patient who is in the ICU. Another 794 people are recovering at home and health officials say 5,527 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County has had 38 deaths attributed to COVID-19. There are 807 active cases in the county.

  • San Luis Obispo – 1,497
  • Atascadero - 559
  • Nipomo - 462
  • California Men's Colony (inmates) - 295
  • Arroyo Grande - 370
  • Cal Poly (on-campus) - 251
  • San Miguel - 212
  • Grover Beach - 218
  • Templeton - 190
  • Oceano - 173
  • Morro Bay - 104
  • Los Osos - 115
  • Pismo Beach - 96
  • Shandon - 63
  • Santa Margarita - 50
  • Cambria - 42
  • Creston - 32
  • Atascadero State Hospital (patients) - 24
  • Cayucos - 25
  • Avila Beach - 12
  • San Simeon - 7

The location of 20 additional cases is under investigation, and another seven are listed as "other," which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Public Health Department is not identifying those locations.
Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles and Morro Bay.
