The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is seeking bike donations — whether it's the bikes themselves, new helmets, or monetary donations for replacement parts — for their Christmas Bicycle Giveaway.
Because of the pandemic, the Sheriff's Office said they only have one location and a day for their giveaway. It will be held on Dec. 10 at 9 a.m. at the Sheriff's Honor Farm at 880 Oklahoma Avenue, San Luis Obispo.
If you know a child, 15-years-old or younger, who needs a bike, you can email bikereports@co.slo.ca.us or fill out an application at the Sheriff's Office website.
This program was set up 31 years ago, according to Sheriff's officials. Inmates who are at the Honor Farm help make repairs on the refurbished bikes.
