Two injured following three-vehicle collision on Highway 101 in Santa Maria

UPDATE (12:17 p.m.) — The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says two people sustained minor and moderate injuries following a three-vehicle collision on Highway 101 in Santa Maria.

Fire officials told KSBY News that the incident took place between Union Valley Parkway and Clark Avenue in Orcutt Saturday morning.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department Newsline, a pickup truck was towing a Jeep when one of the truck's tires blew, causing the pickup truck to swerve and crash into another vehicle on the road.

The collision resulted in the pickup truck rolling over in the center divider, officials tell KSBY. Fire crews say minor extrication was required.

Officials say two patients have been taken to the Marian Regional Medical Center for evaluation for their injuries. Another person involved in the collision was not injured.

Two engines and a Battalion Chief from the fire department responded to the crash.

Fire officials tell KSBY that an investigation into the crash is still underway.

ORIGINAL STORY (11:22 a.m.) ⁠— The Santa Barbara County Fire Department is responding to a three-vehicle traffic collision Saturday morning on Highway 101 in Santa Maria.

According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information page, the collision took place at about 10:52 a.m. at the Clark Avenue southbound offramp on Highway 101.

Fire department officials did not immediately respond to calls from KSBY News.

KSBY is sending a crew member to the scene of the collision for more information.
