Santa Barbara man identified as victim of apparent weekend assault

The Santa Barbara man who died after an apparent assault over the weekend has been identified by authorities as William Pulle-Valle, 24.

Santa Barbara police said they responded to a 911 call at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday to reports of a man bleeding.

Police say they found a man on the 1000 block of Olive Street who had wounds consistent with an assault.

The victim, identified as Pulle-Valle, was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries, according to police.

Detectives are asking anyone in the area with video surveillance to turn it over to authorities to aid in the ongoing investigation.

No arrests have been made.
