The Santa Maria Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying an attempted kidnapping suspect.
On Nov. 11, police say officers responded to an attempted kidnapping call at around 4 p.m. in the 400 block of North Curryer Road near the Iglesia Monte Zion Church.
Police say the suspect jumped a fence into the victim's yard, brandished a handgun and demanded that the victim follow him. The victim did not comply and the suspect fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.
A sketch of the man suspected of the attempted kidnapping can be viewed above. He was last seen wearing a red-colored sweatshirt, dark baseball cap, and black pants.
