Two people were arrested following a reported burglary at a Santa Maria-area business Sunday.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says they responded at around 4:36 p.m. to reports of a burglary in progress at a business on the 4200 block of Dominion Road.

Once on scene, the sheriff’s office said they noticed a door slightly open and a short time later, two people ran off.

A sheriff’s helicopter and the California Highway Patrol responded to the area to assist with the search.

After two hours and with help from a sheriff’s K9, the two suspects were located.

They were booked at the Lompoc Jail on suspicion of felony commercial burglary and then released due to the county’s zero bail policy.

The sheriff’s office says a vehicle associated with the men was located and items believed to have been stolen from the business were found inside. It was towed from the scene.
