Smoke from fires burning throughout the state are impacting air quality in San Luis Obispo County.

Health officials say the air quality index is currently ranging from "moderate" to "unhealthy" for those who are more sensitive to changes in air quality, including children, older adults and those with existing respiratory illness and heart conditions.

People who smell smoke or see ash falling are advised to take precautions and reduce exposure.

Smoke is expected to be seen in the area until the fires are put out.
