After scoring deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, consumers now have the chance to chip in to local charities during a global event called Giving Tuesday.
The day of donations began in 2012 as a way to encourage people to do good and give back.

Fin's Restaurant in Grover Beach is putting on a"Dinner for a Cause" on Dec. 3 with 100 percent of proceeds going to the 5 Cities Homeless Coalition.
RISE, a San Luis Obispo non-profit that works to end intimate partner and sexual violence, set a Giving Tuesday goal of $4,500 to fund programs that benefit local survivors.
Camp Kesem at Cal Poly is using the fundraising event to collect to donations to send kids to camp.
