SLO Sheriff's Office investigating reported child molestation

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a reported case of child molestation and is asking the public to come forward with information about possible additional victims.

David Avis Vance, 54, of San Miguel was arrested Saturday on suspicion of sexual penetration with a foreign object of a child under 14.

The sheriff's office is not releasing any additional information about this case to protect the victim; however, officials are asking anyone with information that could help with this investigation to contact the Sheriff's Detective Division at (805) 781-4500. Anonymous tips can be made by contacting Crime Stoppers online or at (805) 549-STOP.

Vance is currently in custody at San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $200,000.
