ORIGINAL STORY: With rain expected across much of the Central Coast this weekend, the Santa Barbara Zoo is anticipating a blizzard.
Eighty tons of snow are being trucked into the zoo for the annual Snow Leopard Festival.
It’s happening Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Zoo members can get in an hour earlier.
Children ages 4 to 12 can enjoy sledding, a visit with Santa and a look at reindeer Cookie and Peppermint.
Sledding tickets are $5 and available at the front gate.
While big cats are being honored at the festival, the zoo’s new snow leopard might not be on view quite yet.
