Firefighters worked to put out a vegetation fire in Goleta Thursday morning.
It sparked at around 7 a.m. in a eucalyptus grove near Southbound Highway 101 and Winchester Canyon.
About a quarter of an acre burned.
Firefighters say there was a large homeless encampment in the area.
The fire prompted the closure of the Union Pacific railroad tracks for an unknown amount of time.
No injuries were reported.
