The Atascadero Police Department said in a press release the woman was facing moderate injuries after a Nissan hit her.

Police said the driver was uninjured and cooperating with officers.

Drugs and alcohol do not seem to be a factor in the collision; however, the Atascadero Police Department Traffic Unit is conducting an investigation.

Officers remind drivers the importance of being vigilant, especially when driving at night and to always be alert for pedestrians.
