A nursing home in California was evacuated after its staff didn't show up for the second day in a row.

In a press release from the Riverside University Health System , the 84 patients at the Magnolia Rehabilitation and Nursing Center were moved to other facilities throughout Riverside County.

Health officials said that there were 34 known novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases found among the residents and five among the employees.

"Rehabilitation facilities and nursing homes present a challenge for health officials due to the age and health conditions of the residents, as well as their proximity to each other," officials said in the statement. "The county prioritizes investigations in these facilities due to the high risk of serious illness that outbreaks pose."

Currently, there are 1,016 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Riverside County.
