A suspect who was arrested and charged with murder in the death of a missing Paso Robles man made his first court appearance Thursday morning in the case.

Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the hearing was held virtually via Zoom.

The arraignment for Nicholas Ron, 23, of Paso Robles was continued until July 15 per his attorney's request. The matter was put over two weeks in order to finalize a witness list.

Ron remains in custody and joined court proceedings from the San Luis Obispo County Jail.

He's charged in the death of Trevon Perry, who police say went missing in the early morning hours of March 15.

Last week, police announced they believed the 27-year-old's remains had been found in a home in Riverside.

Ron's arraignment was continued to July 15 at 8:30 a.m. His bail is set at $1.25 million.

A second person charged in connection with Perry's death is out on bail and due in court for arraignment next month.

Police say Vivianna Rodriguez, 24, of Paso Robles was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to murder and add that additional arrests in the case are anticipated.
