One person person is dead after a "home-built" aircraft crashed near a Freeway in Santa Clarita, California, according to NBC News.
Authorities responded to a downed aircraft around 10:30 a.m. Saturday near the 14 Freeway and Newhall Ave.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office tweeted out Saturday morning that the aircraft was "engulfed in flames".

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane was a "home-built TM-1 Thunder Mustang".
Officials say the pilot was the only person on board.
The California Highway Patrol is advising drivers to avoid that area of the 14 Freeway as it is block for an "unknown duration due to police and FAA activity."
