The Paso Robles Fire Department held a community workshop on Saturday morning at the Public Safety Center.

Department leaders are developing a new 5-year strategic plan. The workshop allowed residents and business owners to provide input on shaping the department's future.

Johnathan Stornetta, the fire chief for the Paso Robles Fire Department, shared, "Today, we're about 31,000 residents, and by 2040 they're expecting to be 44,000. So, we have a lot of growth going on. And as that growth increases. So does our service demand. So, we want to make sure we meet those increasing demands. And the community is providing this input on how we can address their concerns moving forward."

Officials say the strategic plan will help guide decisions related to fire and emergency response, disaster preparedness, emergency medical services, and more.
