Firefighters in Paso Robles stopped a brush fire from spreading in the Salinas Riverbed on Saturday night.
The fire broke out just before 8:00 p.m. South of Niblick Bridge. Crews found flames burning through thick brush in the middle of the riverbed.
Recently grazed firebreaks helped firefighters safely reach the flames and extinguish them. The fire burned less than half an acre, and officials say no one was hurt.
