Traffic was backed up over the Cuesta Grade on Thursday afternoon after a crash involving a semi truck and a military Humvee.
It happened at about 2:30 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 just south of the summit near TV Tower Road.
The semi truck went off the side of the roadway, narrowly avoiding going over a cliff.
The right two southbound lanes of the highway (#2 and #3 lanes) were closed while crews worked to stabilize the vehicle and remove it. The closure is expected to be in place for at least a couple of hours.
One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, according to CAL FIRE SLO.
