As the Timber Fire continues to burn in the Big Sur area, people impacted by the wildfire have another option for temporary lodging.
The fire broke out on August 8 and has burned more than 4,000 acres and hundreds of structures are threatened, with firefighters continuing to battle the flames.
Evacuations and road closures have also disrupted residents, businesses and visitors across the Big Sur area.
To help those affected, hotels across San Luis Obispo County are offering discounted rates for people who have been displaced or otherwise impacted by the fire.
The participating hotels are offering special rates based on availability, giving evacuees and others in need a place to stay while the fire continues to threaten communities along the Central Coast.
People looking for a room should contact the participating hotels directly and ask about their Timber Fire or evacuation-related discounted rate.
Rates, availability and eligibility may vary by property.
