Liddell was victorious over Ortiz in 2004 and 2006 with knockouts of his own, but 12 years later, the ‘Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ finally got his revenge on ‘The Iceman.’

The fight started very slow as both fighters tried to pick the right spots to punch, and then four minutes into the opening frame, Ortiz finally got his opening.
The 43-year-old Ortiz rocked the 48-year-old Liddell with a powerful right hand, dropping him to the mat. Ortiz got a few shots on Liddell while he was laid out, but official Herb Dean quickly separated the two and called the fight.

Liddell discussed his loss with the media after the event concluded.
“I love being out there, I love fighting, and I was at home in there and was ready to go,” Liddell said. “I wish I would’ve done a few things different, obviously, but it happens.”
With the loss, Liddell falls to 21-9 in his professional career; Ortiz improves to 20-12-1 with the victory.
