Dylan Beavers and Kai Janowicz of Mission Prep signed their national letters of intent to play Division 1 collegiate baseball on Wednesday afternoon in front of friends and family in the Royals’ gymnasium.

Beavers, a three-time all-league outfielder and pitcher for the Royals, signed to play baseball at Cal Berkeley. Beavers owns a career .376 batting average with 12 home runs and 50 RBI in three years with the Mission Prep varsity baseball team. He says he’s excited to take the next step into college baseball and play in the very competitive Pac-12 Conference.

“It’s been a dream of mine to continue playing baseball past high school, and to do it at UC Berkeley, it’s just a dream come true,” Beavers said.

Janowicz, a two-sport athlete at Mission Prep, signed to pitch at UC Davis. Janowicz sported back-to-back 3-3 records on the bump for the Royals in his sophomore and junior seasons. A standout in the classroom as well, Janowicz is honored to be an Aggie on and off the field.

“It’s just another step in the process, and I’m amazed that I made it this far,” Janowicz said. “I can’t wait to go even farther.”
