The Allan Hancock College baseball team was defeated by San Joaquin Delta College, 14-5, in a non-conference tilt on Saturday afternoon at John Osborne Field.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the first inning thanks to a Ryan Pearce RBI single that scored Reed Odland.
However, Delta dealt a blow to the Bulldogs in the top of the third inning.
The Mustangs plated five runs on four hits, capped off by a Vinny Bolonga RBI double to take the 6-2 lead.
Delta added three more runs in the fifth inning and then tallied its second five-run inning in the eighth to take the commanding advantage.
Hancock scratched across two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning but that was it for the scoring.
The Bulldogs fall to 5-4 with the loss and will close out their two-game series against Delta on Sunday afternoon with the first pitch at noon.
