It all comes down to Friday night for the Western State-North Conference crown in men’s basketball.

Cuesta, Allan Hancock, and Ventura all enter the final night of the regular season with identical 7-2 conference records.

It’s only fitting that the Cougars and the Bulldogs meet up with the winner earning at least a share of the title. Ventura clinches a share if they defeat Moorpark at home.

Cuesta and Allan Hancock battled on February 2, and it was the Cougars coming away with the victory in the first round of the fight, 69-66.

Both Tyson Aye, Allan Hancock head coach, and Rusty Blair, Cuesta head coach, know what’s on the line.

“It’s huge, not only for conference championship implications but also for State playoff implications,” Aye said. “The fact that you get to compete against your rival in the last game of the year for a championship, it can’t be any better.”

“Considering where we came from to get back into it, we won six-straight games to put us in the situation where we are tied,” Blair added. “We knew that we had to win out to basically win the championship. We’ll all put our best foot forward, for sure.”

Allan Hancock will host Cuesta inside Joe White Gymnasium on Friday at 5:00 P.M. The women’s game will follow the men’s game.
