Arroyo Grande High School seniors Sam Vitt and Emma Holt signed their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday afternoon.

Vitt, a standout on the Eagles’ girls water polo team, signed to play water polo at UC Davis. Vitt helped lead Arroyo Grande to a runner-up finish in the CIF Central Section Division 1 playoffs. The Eagles fell to Clovis in the championship, 6-5.

“It was really rewarding and just to see all my hard work pay off. Just to have everyone here, it was super exciting,” Witt said.

And when it came to choosing UC Davis over other schools, “I really like the coach and the girls were super close. I really like the atmosphere that they’ve created,” Witt added.

As for Holt, she’ll be continuing her softball career for the Pamona-Pitzer Co-Op. Holt and the Eagles finished the 2018 season with an 11-11 overall record and 7-7 in league play.

“I think it’s a really good balance of academics and athletics for me,” Holt said. “Their academics are prestigious, it’s a great location, and I’ll be able to play softball there.”
