It’s been a perfect season so far for the RoadRunners, a group of girls in San Luis Obispo who are making their presence felt throughout the entire state of California.

The team has an unblemished record of 23-0, most recently taking home first place in the Area-Q Section Tournament, a section that included nearly 1,000 teams.

“It’s very important for me to get along with the people because other I wouldn’t play as well,” Lucky Beck said. “That’s what soccer is all about,” Finley Pearse added. “You have to work together. Teamwork.”

With soccer being the ultimate team sport, it’s evident this group loves the game of soccer, but the bonds these girls have created along the way are just as important to them.

“They trust each other so much now because they’ve played for such a long time together,” co-coach Jenny Beck said. “They really do love each other.”

The RoadRunners are headed down to Orange County this weekend to compete in the AYSO Western States Championships.
