The Cuesta College softball team defeated Santa Monica, 7-5, in a Western State-North Conference showdown on Tuesday afternoon in San Luis Obispo.
The Cougars plated four runs in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie thanks to timely hitting and costly Corsairs’ errors.
Kat Cline and Katie Murphee each went 2-for4 at the plate for Cuesta in the win. Cline scored a pair of runs while Murphee racked up 3 RBIs.
Next up for Cuesta (7-22, 2-8), a trip to Santa Barbara on Friday at 1 P.M.
