San Luis Obispo’s Xiao Gin signed her National Letter of Intent to play softball for Oregon State at a ceremony held inside the SLO High gymnasium Wednesday afternoon.
Gin, a standout pitcher for the Tigers, is only a junior but will be graduating early and starting her freshman year with the Beavers next fall.
The Tigers are 8-6 overall this season and are sitting third place in the Mountain League.
Gin says she’s really excited to continue her softball career in Corvallis.
“It means a lot. My family, my friends, and my coaches have all been so supportive,” Gin said. “Just knowing that I’m grateful enough to have the opportunity to continue to play the game that I love, it’s really special to me. I’m really looking forward to playing college at the next level.”
Gin and the Tigers will travel to first place Atascadero on Thursday night.
