Seven members of the Santa Maria High School football team will take part in the 2019 FCA All-Star Football Classic.
The Saints were presented by game sponsor, Santa Maria Ford in Santa Maria. The seven members representing Santa Maria High School on Team Santa Barbara County are Joaquin Jesus, Gustavo Velasco, David Ruis, Phillip Becerra, Nathaniel Hernandez, Kenneth Dato, and Jonathan Rojas.
The Saints and Santa Maria Ford are excited about partnering for the big game.
“We believe that supporting our youth is very important as a part of building a great future for Santa Maria, California and the United States in general,” Santa Maria Ford general manager Eric Silver said.
“It’ll be a little hard, you know, bittersweet,” Phillip Becerra said about playing in one last football game. “It’s supposed to be a good time, so I’m going to go enjoy it.”
“It’s my last high school football game so going and putting the pads on one more time, making new friends, and getting to know more people, it’s about having fun,” Gustavo Velasco added.
The 2019 FCA All-Star Football Classic will take place at Righetti High School on Saturday, June 1.
