In Arroyo Grande, California Coast Baseball Academy is officially underway.
The inaugural camps are for young and aspiring ball players across the area. The camp gives players plenty of options to participate with daily, weekly, and year-long training clinic for those of all skill levels.
The three sessions on Monday were for ages five through 12 and 12 and up.
Director of player development Bryan Madsen says this program was 15 months in the making, and he’s excited to finally to get the camps underway.
“It’s a great new facility. It’s all about the development, all about trying to make the kids better. We’re bringing the National team program to the area. We’ve hosted a couple of trials here, so it’s good. We have brand new turf facilities, new cages, so it’s been a really good partnership,” Madsen said.
“We’ve had kids today that have barely played baseball, and we’ve had kids that have played for seven or eight years.”
