What. A. Statement.

The Allan Hancock College football team defeated LA Valley, 70-3, to begin its 2019 campaign on Saturday afternoon in Santa Maria.

LA Valley actually began the scoring with a field goal in the first quarter, but it was all Bulldogs from there.

Allan Hancock scored seven points in the first quarter, 21 in the second quarter, 28 in the third quarter, and closed things out with 14 in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs' offense racked up 563 yards compared to the Monarchs' 27. Yes, 27, you read that right.

The three-headed monster of Eddie Battle, DJ Whitmill, and Terrance Raynor led the way for the Bulldogs on the ground. Battle rushed for a team-high 129 yards and two touchdowns, Whitmill went for 108 yards on eight carries, and Raynor piled up 72 yards on 12 touches and two scores.

Gavin Grondahl didn't have to do too much through air. He completed just 6 of 13 passes for 89 yards, one touchdown, but threw four interceptions.

Allan Hancock (1-0) will have a tough contest this Saturday against one of the state's best teams, Ventura College. Kickoff in Ventura is set for 6 P.M.
