The Arroyo Grande boys basketball team trailed by three at halftime, but a second-half surge propelled the Eagles to a 77-60 win over El Camino Real, clinching a spot for AG in the CIF State Regional Division 3 FInal next Tuesday.
The Eagles opened the second half on an 8-0 run, jumping out to a 43-38 lead. A three-pointer from Gage Gomez extended the lead to six.
In the fourth, Robert Hutchens connected from downtown as his three from the top of the key put AG up by 10.
Gomez led the way for Arroyo Grande with a game-high 27 points. Hutchens and Connor Angle both chipped in with 16 points each.
AG outscored the Conquistadors 42-22 in the second half.
The Eagles will be back at home Tuesday night taking on Providence High School in the CIF Regional Final. The winner of that matchup will head to Sacramento for the CIF State Championship game next Friday.
