The St. Joseph boys basketball team drew the ninth seed in their bracket, but the Knights earned a hard-fought road victory on Tuesday night, taking down Bakersfield, 54-43, in the opening round of the CIF State Boys Basketball Championships.
St. Joseph will now host a second round matchup on Thursday night against El Camino Real.
