Two wins down, two wins to go for the St. Joseph football team on its quest towards a CIF Central Section championship. The Knights are gearing up to face 2-seed San Joaquin Memorial in the Division 2 semifinals Friday night.

After keeping the shield at home to wrap up the regular season, St. Joseph was on a five-game winning streak. Now two rounds into the playoffs, the Knights haven't slowed down and have won seven in a row.

St. Joseph topped Sunnyside to open up the playoffs, 27-6, and then followed it up with an upset win over 3-seed Redwood in the second round, 28-21.

At 10-1 overall, San Joaquin Memorial is no easy task, and the Knights know they'll have their hands full with the Panthers.

"It's different because when you are facing an opponent that has nationally notarized players, you have to pay attention and you have to change up your scheme a little bit," St. Joseph head coach Pepe Villasenor said. "At the end of the day, it's about communication and effort."

"Our whole season we have just been preaching week-by-week, and we just have to take this week because they are a good team and we definitely can't look past them," St. Joseph senior Devin Guggia added. "We just have to take this week one-by-one and just tell them to watch film, stick to their game plan, and focus on doing their jobs."

St. Joseph and San Joaquin Memorial will kickoff in Fresno Friday night at 7 P.M.
