Yair Torres of Santa Maria and Bella Aldridge of St. Joseph were honored Monday afternoon in Santa Maria at the Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Round Table luncheon.
Torres, the male athlete of the week, is a member of the Saints' cross country team. He helped lead the boys to a first place finish at the Dos Pueblos Invite last Friday. This season, Torres set his new personal record of 15:00.00 while finishing no lower than second place in any race.
Aldridge, the female athlete of the week, has led the Knights' girls golf team to an undefeated Ocean League season, including two wins last week. Aldridge finished co-medalist twice with scores of 49 last Monday and 47 last Thursday.
