The Righetti girls volleyball team suffered a heartbreaking loss in the CIF Division 3 title game on Saturday afternoon, falling in five sets to top-seeded San Joaquin Memorial.
The Warriors took the first set, 25-22, but the Panthers rallied to even up the match, winning the second set, 25-19. Righetti stormed back in the third, winning the set, 25-22, but the Panthers responded in the fourth, taking it 25-13, and forcing a fifth and final set.
Righetti took a 14-12 lead in the fifth, but San Joaquin Memorial went on a 4-0 run to seal the win, and the CIF Division 3 title.
