Caltrans reported a rock slide heading southbound on Highway 101.
The report came in at around 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The slide deposited mud and gravel and caused significant traffic along the highway.
Crews closed off the third (far right) lane nearest to the slide. This closure runs from halfway down the Cuesta Grade to Hawk Hill.
Another crew will return Monday morning to survey the hillside.
