Daytime highs for the interior valleys are backing off from triple digits on Monday. Temperatures for California Valley and Shandon will get close to 100 degrees on Monday, but right now daytime highs will range from the upper 80s to upper 90s. High pressure over the area is moving to the east, which is allowing for those interior valleys to cool down this week. However, with extremely dry live and dead fuel paired with gusty onshore winds, fire weather danger remains to be of concern.

Coastal valley temperatures will be mild on Monday and range from the low to upper 70s. Morning fog will be a factor during the morning commute and there will also be a possibility of some drizzle as well. Expect sky conditions to clear by the early afternoon hours.

The beaches will be much cooler and in the 60s up to the low 70s. The coast will be socked in with morning marine layer before conditions clear up in the afternoon. Models are showing that the fog will be pushed off the coastline by the afternoon and hang out there before making a quick return by the early evening.
