Wind advisories, high wind warnings issued for San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara Counties

Tuesday will be a very windy day for the area. High winds are expected to stretch from the coast and deep into the mountains and foothills.

A wind advisory will remain in place for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County from 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. The areas under the advisory are the beaches, coastal valleys and the Santa Ynez Valley. Sustained winds will range from 20-30 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 mph. The mountains and foothills and the south coast will also be breezy with potential for wind gusts to reach 45 mph.

The mountains and foothills above Montecito in Santa Barbara County are under a high wind warning through at least 3:00 a.m. Wednesday. Wind gusts could range anywhere from 50-65 mph through Wednesday afternoon.

The rest of the forecast is mild. Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to low 70s and skies will be partly cloudy in the morning before conditions clear up in the afternoon.
